Quest Arc

Maclaren Quest Arc Review

The Maclaren Quest Arc was designed to compete with other compact models on the market. In this review, I will show you all its advantages and disadvantages of the Quest Arc for 2022. (for comparision, you can read: Best Stroller for Big Kids (up to 6 Years Old)) It stands out from the rest for being an umbrella stroller with elegant design, big folding canopy, a safety system for newborns, 5-point seat belts, and excellent maneuverability with its straight and adjustable handlebar. Maclaren Quest is one of the best umbrella strollers, like the Chicco London. It is stylish and packed with excellent features: wide and comfortable seat, adjustable footrest, all-wheel suspension, a good-sized basket and a rear pocket…

Advantages of the Maclaren Quest Arc stroller

Before making the purchase, it is better to know what advantages and disadvantages it has . Below I show you all the benefits of this stroller.

Lifetime warranty

Every Maclaren buggy comes with a “global safety standard”. To get the lifetime warranty, all you have to do is buy a Maclaren baby stroller and register within 60 days of purchase.

Big and practical canopy

This is one of the best canopies I’ve seen on an umbrella stroller. The two large UPF 50+ waterproof panels and a visor provide excellent coverage.

Plus, it has a third zippered panel with two mesh windows on the sides you can use for extra coverage. It will fully protect your little one from the sun. Also, there’s a large window at the top with magnetic closure (no noisy Velcro).

One-piece handlebar

This Maclaren model has a single straight, adjustable handlebar that improves maneuverability. You can easily hold your coffee in one hand and push it with the other—definitely a plus.

All of their designs are elegant.

Whatever colour you choose, you will be right as all the designs are modern, elegant and with an unbeatable quality of finish.

Comfortable and spacious seat.

Its spacious seat has four reclining positions, including a flat one suitable for a newborn. You can accommodate a child from birth and up to 55lbs.

Besides, It has a lever recline system that only requires one hand instead of the annoying strap system as in most umbrella models.

The seat in its most upright position has the perfect tilt for comfortable strolls and allows the little one to observe everything around him.

The Quest Arc has one of the highest backrests on the market. Even a tall child will fit easily. The seat fabric is removable and machine washable.

Safety for newborns

Another exciting feature of the seat is the afoot safety barrier, designed for newborns, hidden under the adjustable footrest. It attaches to both sides of the frame and prevents your newborn baby from sliding out.

The footrest is adjustable in two positions: up and down. Younger babies will be able to stretch their little legs and take a comfortable nap.

It has a 5-point, adjustable harness that matches the seat’s design and has a centre-release buckle. The straps are thick and durable (most umbrella models have thin straps).

Good storage

There is a small storage pocket on the back of the seat that you can use for small essentials.

The bottom basket offers adequate storage space when compared to those of other umbrella-locking strollers.

One of the most agile on the market

4 wheel suspension. The front wheels are swivel but can be locked straight. While the wheels are not large, the maneuverability is AMAZING! You can easily tackle busy streets, uneven pavement, playground sand and grass. The all-wheel suspension helps smooth out the bumps.

Easy folding

Despite having only one handlebar, it still has the same umbrella fold. It’s kind of a one-handed, one-foot fold that has three steps. The folded dimensions are 34 x 111 x 30 cm, and since it weighs only 6.2 kg, you can quickly hoist it over your shoulder. It also has a carrying handle and a shoulder strap for easy transport.

Disadvantages of this stroller

High price.

You can get it from about 200 € to just over 300 €, a high price for an umbrella stroller. It indeed has a higher quality than most, and the manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty. In the end, if you want something good, you have to pay for it.

No travel system option.

Competition is stiff these days, and many other umbrella models have a travel system option. I guess they decided not to bother with it because most parents buy the umbrella model after 6 months (that’s when you’re sick of carrying that big travel stroller and want to downsize to something lighter).

Conclusion

I have tested many umbrella strollers, and the Maclaren strollers are head and shoulders above all other umbrella strollers when it comes to maneuverability and terrain handling. Thanks to the single handlebar, you can easily steer it with one hand. The ultra-light aluminium frame keeps the weight down while providing a very sturdy feel.

Where to buy it

My favorite place to buy strollers and many other baby items is Amazon. It usually has the lowest prices, free shipping, free returns and no sales tax.
